The logo I designed for the Fairbanks 2014 Arctic Winter Games bid was projected onto the side of the University of Alaska Museum of the North during the International Committee’s site visit in January. Many thanks to whoever that was. As I recall it was around -10 to -15 degrees that evening. Read More »No Comments Yet »
Just returned from the Alaska Wholesale Gift and Food Show in Anchorage, Alaska. The show is under new owners and they did a great job. The show had more vendors than last year. Not sure if the number of buyers were up. In case you don’t know, the Wholesale Show is open to just gift shop owners and buyers. Vendors like me have a booth and wholesale our product to the retail outlets. This is my 6th year doing the Show and it’s always a great way to meet new retailers.
As always the Wild Women cards sold very well. The Nature of Alaska cards are a favorite too. Picked up new stores in Nome and Hyder. Opposite sides of the state! The drive down took about 7 hours and was a dream. The drive home was a nightmare! Snowstorm and white out. Glad to make it home in one piece.
Usually most retailers don’t want product shipped until the season starts in May but this year the bulk of the Show orders wanted them shipped right away. Hopefully that’s a sign of the tourism economy recovering. Let’s hope so!No Comments Yet »
